Napa River Inn Summer Music: Darrell Edward Heavy Weather Band @ Silo's Napa | Step out of the cold and warm up with FUNKIN, neo-soul rhythm and blues..!

Darrell Edwards re-established The Darrell Edwards "HEAVY WEATHER BAND" in 2009, and established IBDWE Entertainment Company in late 2010.

Darrell Edwards Heavy Weather Band is again promoting his music live on stage while offering his original music in his new EP entitled "IN MY Heart"! The bands main focus and theme is to play "Music for Life," touching on the duality of playing music to inspire and enliven audiences and performing until they absolutely can no longer.

Some of their most memorable performances were the 2013 Wounded Warriors Benefit at Wooden Valley Winery, the Winter Hawk Winery Summer Fest, Solano County Fair 2013, which all three launched them into the top 10 performing bands on ReverbNation Charts. Finally, the 2013 “Pink Benefit Concert” held in Fairfield CA, which funded on-going cancer research. Performing mainly R&B, neo-soul, and blues.

Darrell and his band mates have shared the stage with Tony Lindsey (11 Grammys / Lead Singer for Carlos Santana), Skyler Jett (Past Lead Singer of the Commodores), Rich Stevens (Original Singer Tower of Power), and Tom Politzer (Saxophonist Tower Of Power).

Lee Ann Womack @ City Winery | Lee Ann Womack (born August 19, 1966, in Jacksonville, Texas) is a country music artist who may best be known for her 2000 crossover hit, “I Hope You Dance”.

Her 1997 self-titled debut album brought her onto the country music scene as a herald of a more neotraditional country music sound, in a genre that had begun to sound more pop-oriented with the likes of LeAnn Rimes, Faith Hill and Shania Twain topping the charts. The hits from that first album were “Never Again, Again”, “The Fool” and “You’ve Got To Talk To Me.”

Her second album, 1998’s Some Things I Know, set the tone for what the pop oriented direction of country music sought to encapsulate in the late 1990s. It brought us “A Little Past Little Rock”, “(Now You See Me) Now You Don’t” and “I’ll Think Of A Reason Later”, while her third and possibly most successful album to date, 2000’s I Hope You Dance, featured, along with the award-winning aforementioned title cut (to which Sons of the Desert supplied the backing vocals) also featured the hits “Why They Call It Falling” and “Does My Ring Burn Your Finger” as well as covers of the 1980 Rodney Crowell hit “Ashes By Now”, and the Don Williams’ 1981 classic, “Lord I Hope This Day Is Good.”

Womack’s fourth album, Something Worth Leaving Behind, released in 2002, was seen by many as an attempt by her to cross over to the very pop-sound of which she was the antithesis five years earlier. The title cut and “Forever Everyday” were the only two singles released. Both went into the top 40 country chart.

Leon Russell WITH SAM LEWIS @ City Winery | Leon Russell (born Claude Russell Bridges on April 2, 1942 in Lawton, Oklahoma) is a singer, songwriter, pianist, and guitarist. Russell attended Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Known as a session musician and artist in his own right, Russell has played with artists as varied as Jerry Lee Lewis, Phil Spector and The Rolling Stones. With a solo career spanning the genres of rock, blues, and gospel, Russell began his musical career at 14, lying about his age to land a gig playing backup at a Tulsa nightclub to play with Ronnie Hawkins behind Jerry Lee Lewis. Two years later, after settling in Los Angeles, he studied guitar with James Burton, and worked sessions with Dorsey Burnette and Glen Campbell.

After becoming a part of Phil Spector’s studio group, Russell played backup on many of the most popular hits of the 1960s, including The Byrds, Gary Lewis and The Playboys, and Herb Alpert. He also served as Snuff Garrett’s assistant on numerous productions. Russell built his own recording studio in 1967, and recorded his first LP, Look Inside The Asylum Choir, in a collaboration with Marc Benno.

His first songwriting hit was Joe Cocker’s 1970 cover of “Delta Lady”, and Russell went on to organise Cocker’s Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour. Shortly thereafter, Russell released another solo album, Leon Russell, which included the original version of the popular “A Song for You”. Also in 1970, Russell played piano on Dave Mason’s album, Alone Together (notably, on the song “Sad And Deep As You”).

Revolver @ Silo's | Revolver is a trio of seasoned musicians who grew up rocking to the sounds of the 60's. Inspired by the songwriting and melodic hooks of groups like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Beau Brummels, Hollies, Kinks, Animals, Lovin' Spoonful and Buffalo Springfield, they took up instruments and formed groups to experience the energy and sensations of playing in a fired-up band. Some of the first tunes they learned were some of these well-crafted gems from artists of the 60's. Their love and appreciation for that genre of music is why they decided to form the group Revolver in the first place.

All three members are singers and multi-instrumentalists, giving Revolver a full and versatile sound including great lead singing, three-part harmonies, and a musical blend of guitars, keyboards, bass, drums and percussion. It's a big sound for three guys.

Revolver is: Michael Budash on guitars, keyboards and vocals, Barry Blum on bass guitar, guitars, keyboards and vocals, and Dan Durkin on drums, rhythm guitar, keyboards, harmonica and vocals. All three members have distinguished writing and musical credits to their names that include songwriting, performances, recordings, commercials, and film soundtracks.

Iris DeMent WITH SPECIAL GUEST PIETA BROWN @ City Winery | About:Iris DeMent says of that elusive inspirational spark, “I didn’t know when or if I’d make another record. I gave up on trying to steer it or force it and decided to just make myself available in my heart and mind as much as I could and leave the rest up to fate.”Sixteen years after the last collection of DeMent songs, that time has come. Sing The Delta presents twelve self-penned compositions from an artist whose first three albums established her as one of the most beloved and respected writers and singers in American music.

David Sedaris ***SOLD OUT*** Waiting List Available @ Uptown Theatre | ***SOLD OUT!***

With sardonic wit and incisive social critiques, David Sedaris has become one of America’s pre-eminent humor writers. The great skill with which he slices through cultural euphe-misms and political correctness proves that Sedaris is a master of satire and one of the most observant writers addressing the human condition today.

David Sedaris is the author Barrel Fever and Holidays on Ice, as well as collections of personal essays, Naked, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, and When You Are Engulfed in Flames, each of which became a bestseller. There are a total of seven million copies of his books in print and they have been translated into 25 languages. He was the editor of Children Playing Before a Statue of Hercules: An Anthology of Outstanding Stories. Sedaris’s pieces appear regularly in The New Yorker and have twice been included in “The Best American Essays.” His newest book, a collection of fables entitled Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary (with illustrations by Ian Falconer), was published in September 2010 and immediately hit the NYT Bestseller Fiction List. His new book is entitled Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls. He and his sister, Amy Sedaris, have collaborated under the name “The Talent Family” and have written half-a-dozen plays which have been produced at La Mama, Lincoln Center, and The Drama Department in New York City. These plays include Stump the Host, Stitches, One Woman Shoe, which received an Obie Award, Incident at Cobbler’s Knob, and The Book of Liz, which was published in book form by Dramatists Play Service. David Sedaris’s original radio pieces can often be heard on This American Life, distributed nationally by Public Radio International and produced by WBEZ.

David Sedaris has been nominated for three Grammy Awards for Best Spoken Word and Best Comedy Album. His most recent live album is David Sedaris: Live For Your Listening Pleasure (November 2009). A feature film adaptation of his story C.O.G. premiered at the Sundance Film Festival (2013).

You can capsulize most pop music acts by reciting how many hits they’ve had and how many millions of albums they’ve sold. But these conventional measurements fall short when you’re assessing the impact of The Beach Boys. To be sure, this band has birthed a torrent of hit singles and sold albums by the tens of millions. But its greater significance lies in the fact that it changed the musical landscape so profoundly that every pop act since has been in its debt.Happily for us all, The Beach Boys continue to create and perform with the same bold imagination and style that marked their explosive debut over 50 years ago.

And now in 2013, their Capitol Records release, Sounds of Summer (RIAA certified triple platinum with over three million in sales and climbing), and it’s companion The Warmth of the Sun marks a resurgence in Beach Boys interest that has again rocked the world.Captained by Mike Love, The Beach Boys play an astoundingly busy schedule of concerts, averaging 150 shows a year, ranging from sundrenched summer festivals to gala New Year’s celebrations and special events worldwide. In 1974 Mike Love’s concept album Endless Summer ignited a second generation of Beach Boys fans and stirred a tempest that rocked the music world.Had this remarkable band been less committed to its art and its fans, it could have retired from the field with honor at dozens of points along the way, confident that it had made a lasting contribution to world culture. It could have rested on the success of the epoch-shifting Pet Sounds masterpiece in 1966 . . . or after recording Love’s co-written Golden Globe nominated “Kokomo” in 1988 and seeing it become its best selling single ever . . . or after being inducted that same year into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame . . . or after watching its worldwide album sales blow past l00 million . . . or after winning the NARAS Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001 [along with The Who, Bob Marley, Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jr. and Les Paul].

And still, The Beach Boys continue to have fun, fun, fun, with no end in sight. The Beach Boys are led by Mike Love and Bruce Johnston, who along with Jeffery Foskett, Randell Kirsch, Tim Bonhomme, John Cowsill and Scott Totten continue the legacy of the iconic American band. This tour will not feature Brian Wilson, Al Jardine or David Marks nor is it part of the 50th Anniversary Tour. The Uptown Theatre Napa is downtown’s ultimate destination for live entertainment.
